What would happen if you release your job title from your life?

This is a simple question that I asked myself for many sleepless nights. Our lives always turn out to be a snowball effect of the decisions we make every time the sun rises and life brings us a chance to start a new day.

So one day I asked myself this question. What would happen if I removed my job title from my life? Is being a manager, director or any sort of corporate hierarchy so important to me?

If so, why is it important? Why do I need to prove myself to others? To society? These are all just questions that were hanging around inside my head when I was going through moments of doubt.

We all have moments of doubt, if life were easy then there’d be no music, classic movies and art. The hard part of life is figuring out why you need to blend in, and let me tell you a secret, you don’t need to.

Releasing yourself from your job title feels like being naked

At least this is how it’s felt for me. When you don’t let a job title define who you are and what you stand for, it feels scary. And now more than ever we are pushed to fill in a “description box”. Are you a “digital creator”, an “influencer”, an “entrepreneur”, a “manager”.

Suddenly all these “job titles” can make us feel vulnerable. We compare ourselves to others. We feel less if someone else has a “higher job title” than us.

But let me tell you a secret, if you’re brave enough to release yourself from your job title, you’ll find your inner magic

When you learn to be present and embrace that there is a way to do what you love without comparing yourself to others, you’ll be free. It’s like letting go of those chains that were holding you back. You’ll start to fly.

Don’t let other people bring you down, don’t take a social media follower number as a validation for your success. Don’t let a boring job hierarchy from someone else make you feel like what you are doing isn’t enough. What you do matters, whether you want to see it or not, the world sees it and so should you.

Set yourself free and see what happens. It’s worth it.
