Where to Find the Best Stock Images for Your Coaching Website

When it comes to creating a coaching website that truly reflects who you are and attracts your dream clients, one important element is the use of captivating stock images. But where can you find the best ones that won't break the bank? Don't worry, I've got you covered! In this blog post, we'll explore the best places to find both free and premium stock images that will add that extra magic to your online presence.

What are stock images?

So, before we dive into the exciting realm of stock images, let's answer the question: What exactly are they? Stock images are professionally captured photographs, illustrations, or graphics that are available for anyone to use in their design projects. They save you the hassle of hiring a photographer or spending hours creating visuals from scratch.

Is it bad to use stock images?

There's a common misconception that using stock images is a big no-no, leading to an unoriginal and impersonal website. But let me debunk that myth right here! Stock images, when used appropriately and creatively, can be a great resource for enhancing your brand and storytelling. I secretly PREFER to use stock images if a client has very poor and unprofessional pictures. The key is to choose images that align with your brand's aesthetic, values and message.

Why is website photography and imagery important?

First Impressions

Visual elements are often the first things visitors notice on a website. Compelling and high-quality images instantly capture attention and create a positive first impression, encouraging people to stay and explore further.

Brand Identity

Imagery helps to establish and reinforce your brand's identity. Consistent visuals, from colors to style, build a strong brand image that makes you memorable.

Storytelling

Imagery is a powerful storytelling tool. Well-chosen photos can tell your brand's story, express its values, and connect with the emotions of your audience, making your message more relatable.

Credibility

High-quality images and professional photography enhance your website's credibility. They signal to visitors that you're invested in your online presence and, by extension, your products or services.

Engagement

Visuals break up text and make your content more digestible. They keep visitors engaged and encourage them to spend more time on your website, which can lead to increased conversions.

Search Engine Optimization

Optimized images and alt text can boost your website's SEO. Search engines rely on image descriptions to understand the content, so well-optimized visuals can improve your ranking.

User Experience

Clear and relevant images improve the user experience. They provide context and help users find what they're looking for more quickly, reducing bounce rates.

Premium stock images vs. free stock images

Now, let's talk about the battle between premium and free stock images. While premium images often offer higher quality and unique content, they come at a cost. On the other hand, free stock images can be a budget-friendly option, but you might encounter them on other websites as well. It's all about finding the right balance that suits your needs and budget.

I personally do prefer to pay for a Canva Pro subscription to get access to more stock images and I can easily tell when someone is using the generic free Canva stock images.

Tips for choosing free stock images:

  • Avoid using the ones that appear on the first search or scroll, because everyone is using those!
  • Spend more time thinking of unique searches to get unique free stock images
  • Make sure they align with your brand color palette
